AN INTRODUCTION TO GEMMOLOGY

A one day course is held from time to time (generally once a year) in Auckland.   This introductory

course is a perfect snap-shot view of what a Gemmologist does.  And it can lead you to further

International studies and ultimately a world recognised qualification.

The tutor is Jill Towers and you will have over the course of a day, access to more than 400 gemstones.  These one day courses are open to anyone (either in the Jewellery Trade or members of the public).  Class places are limited to 5-6 students.

• What does a Gemmologist do?

• Stones from the Organics, Inorganics, Opals, Pearls, Synthetics, Treatments, Imitations.
